The Deeper Meaning of the Cross
The cross reveals the great heart of God, and that heart is filled with love.
God is fully satisfied with the work of his Son. Those who come to him find that their sins are forgiven forever.
The glory of heaven is the Lamb—Jesus Christ, whose victory is celebrated without end. Jesus is the focal point of heaven and
the center of all attention. Without Jesus there would be no heaven at all. And without him none of us would ever have a
chance to go there.
Some people are surprised to learn that in the beginning Christianity had no recognized symbol. In the earliest days Christians recognized each other by declaring “Jesus is Lord.” It took several generations for the cross to become the universal symbol of the Christian faith. Perhaps the cross is little more than a symbol to many people. Yet, it is much more than a symbol and has great meaning and significance.
We must lift up the cross because it is the only message we have.
